Davos, Switzerland (28.01.2009 - 01.02.2009)

WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM Annual Meeting

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting generated greenhouse gases in the amount of 11'500 tons CO2-equivalents. On average, 4.1t CO2-equivalents were emittet per person.

Greenhouse gases (such as CO2 and others) are mainly responsible for today's climatic change. As over 90% of the emissions are caused by airplanes transporting the participants to the meeting, World Economic Forum has only limited possibilities to contribute directly to global climate protection.

The DCA therefore enables every participant to support a climate protection programme which avoids the emission of greenhouse gases through the replacement of fuel power plants by small-scale biogassification systems.
