Annual Meeting of the New Champions 'Summer Davos'
Tianjin, People's Republic of China (13.09.2010 - 15.09.2010)
The 'Summer Davos' will generate greenhouse gases in the amount of approximately 9'500 tons CO2-equivalents. Greenhouse gases (such as CO2 and others) are mainly responsible for today's climate change. As over 90% of the emissions are caused by airplanes transporting the participants to the meeting, World Economic Forum has only limited possibilities to contribute directly to global climate protection.
The DCA therefore enables every participant to support a climate protection programme which avoids the emission of greenhouse gases. Participants of the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2010 may contribute to the generation of clean hydro power that replaces power from the combustion of fossil fuels.
