Greener Davos - lowering carbon dioxide emissions at Annual Meeting 2010

For the 40th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in 2010, new ways to lessen the environmental impact of the meeting are pursued.
As a prominent part of this new concept there will be complementary shuttle busses for the transport from Zürich to Davos, leaving Tuesday 26 January and Wednesday 27 January from 7:00 to 23:00 every hour on the hour and for the return on Sunday 31 January from 5:00 to 18:00 and Monday 1 February from 5:00 to 12:00 every hour on the hour.
In addition to these free busses, the amount of shuttle busses will be increased considerably, circulating in Davos with a waiting time of 7 minutes and allowing a drop off service at hotels. Busses from Klosters to Davos and back will guarantee the transport for participants staying in Klosters.
The important way to lower emissions is not only to reduce overall traffic, but to restrict circulation to vehicles fulfilling environment friendly conditions. To support the “Greener Davos” concept, the following requirements need to be respected from Tuesday 26 January to Sunday 31 January:
CO2 emission rate 230g/km
Fuel consumption 9l/100km
Energy tag Minimum category D

All roads to Davos are controlled as of Monday 25 January at 07:00. Vehicles fulfilling the environmentally friendly requirements will be provided with a green “Greener Davos” sticker when accessing Davos.
